Okay, so for last few months I have been challenging myself to be a "Positive Patty" in all situations. I am always a "yes"man(well woman:) ), and believe God can do what we can't see, but here lately I have been praying God will help me better at handling negative people. It gets so irritating with all the negative in the world in the first place, but on top of that people out there that want to be a discouragement to others, and everything out of their mouth is something negative.
I talk with people all the time about how easy it is to be negative about situations that come our way, or maybe that we want to perfect, or think we "have" to be in control of, or have to have a say so in, but we must stay positive! Even when it is a negative situation that has come our way.
I realize that it is hard to look at everything as it will be okay, or that God has it in His hands. That is when we MUST remember, "All things work together for good to them that love God".
I have learned that I can stress, I can over-think, I can feel so overwhelmed about a situation, and then in the end it ALWAYS works out. I mean God has it under control. We waste so much time worrying when we can just be happy knowing God will keep His promise.
We all go through so much, and even with our positive attitudes you will end up around someone that wants to through a damper in it, or that will put it in your mind that it is impossible, not a good idea, can't go right, or just doesn't care about it.
Isn't it funny how that always end up happening? You say to God, "Okay, I am going to trust you, and be an encouragement to others and not discourage or be negative", and all of a sudden, there is that precious person :) to get you all backwards. BUT it is okay! Just know that they are coming. Like in the book of Nehemiah, there will always be that Sanballat and Tobiah in your life judging the situation, and being a negative voice. I have learned in my life the challenge is to stay away from them. Let them talk, let them roar, let them get it all out, but never conform to them. Never give them the pleasure of entertaining their negative opinion, or give in to their negativity whatsoever.
Be the person that people look to for a smile, for some encouragement, and for something positive. You will find those people in life that you know you to go to that will uplift you, and not bring you down. Surround yourself with those positive people. Surround yourself with successful people that are doing things for God.
And when those days come(and they will) and when negative is surrounding you, and "Nelly" is coming out, and everything is bad, just know, "With men it is IMpossible, but not with God; with God all things are POSSIBLE!"
Don't be a "Negative Nelly" be a "Positive Patty"!!
